This is a map that appears in the pilgrims' credentials issued once you arrive. The black numbers are the numbers of kilometers to the next city, the red numbers next to the city names are the kilometers remaining to Santiago.


At one time, it seemed as though all roads led to Santiago.  In the Middle Ages, Santiago was the third major pilgrimage destination besides Rome and Jerusalem.  Pilgrims still begin all over Europe and end up in Santiago.
